Wayne E. Koehler, formerly of Burlington, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, surrounded by his family. Wayne, born on June 29, 1933, in Lamesa, Texas to Charles H. Koehler and Winnie Mae (Jeffreys) Koehler attended Dawson County, Texas public schools graduating in 1950 from Klondike High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later farmed for 46 years in the Goodland, Kan. and Burlington areas. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and playing golf.He married Sidney Estelle Reynolds in August of 1952 and divorced in 1972. This union was blessed with three sons.Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include three sons Steve Koehler (Yvonne) of Danville, Ky., Bryan Koehler (Gina) of Los Alamos, N.M., and Mark Koehler of Oral, S.D. and partner Louann Goldie; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Charlene Cortese of San Angelo, Texas and two nieces. A celebration of life is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express in Goodland, Kan.In lieu of flowers, friends are requested to make a donation to the .
