Ward B. Underwood92, of Kokomo, formerly of Frankfort, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo. He was born on August 12, 1924 in Frankfort to Paul M. & Lela Merie (Ward) Underwood. He married Betty J. Harshman on October 24, 1942 in Muncie and she preceded him in death on October 14, 2005. He then married Glendora Danner on September 1, 2007 and she preceded him in death on June 15, 2013. He is a 1942 graduate of Frankfort High School and worked for ALCOA in Lafayette, retiring in 1993 after serving there for 43 years. Ward was a city councilman under Mayor Jim Brown and also served 2 terms under Mayor Mary Jane McMahon. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he had served as trustee. His other memberships include Clinton Lodge #54 F&AM, Clinton Chapter #82 RAM, Frankfort Council #46 R&SM, Frankfort Commandery #29 KT, Clinton Chapter #6 OES, Scottish Rite Valley in Indianapolis, Shriner - Murat Temple in Indianapolis, Yorkrite College #133, Indiana RIORY #8 - Kentucky Chapter life member, Indiana Past Commanders - KT, Scottish Rite Club - Clinton County, Yeoman of York, Prefectory #3, Past Master Association of Tippecanoe County, ALCOA 25 year club, ALCOA Retiree club, Fraternal Order of Police #69, GWRRA Chapter K of Lafayette, American Motorcycle Association life member.Surviving are his son, Ward E. (Kathy) Underwood of South Bend; brother, Paul E. (Betty) Underwood of Frankfortl and grandchildren, Scott (Stephanie) Underwood and their children Jacob, Lucas, & Lauren of South Bend, Carrie Underwood of South Bend, Jennifer (Matt) Allison and their son Logan of Anderson, & Stephen (Katie) Underwood and their son Maddux of Crown Point.He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lela Kathryn Underwood; a daughter, Patricia Ann Underwood; his wife, Betty of nearly 66 years; and his second wife, Glendora.Ward's family would like to thank the Waterford Place Legacy Staff, Guardian Angel Hospice Staff, and the Chapter "K"ruisers Club for their loving care and kindness.Funeral services with Masonic rites will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center in Frankfort. Friends may visit from Noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Grant Merrell will officiate.
