WHITEWalter Willis White died at his home in Cincinnati on March 30, 2017, after a brief illness. He was 84 years old. Mr. White was born on January 23, 1933, the son of Marion D. and Beulah L. White, in Cambridge, Iowa. He graduated from Drake University in 1954 and that same year married Donna Cameron White. Mr. White served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War era and then obtained his masters degree in retailing from New York University. He then began working for The Kroger Co. in Ohio. During his career of close to three decades with Kroger, he worked throughout the Midwest. He ultimately served as Kroger's Vice President of Internal Audit in Cincinnati. After his retirement from Kroger, Mr. White was a consultant, helping family-owned businesses maximize their potential. Mr. White served as treasurer and president of the board of The Seven Hills School, worked with several community organizations, and was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. Mr. White's wife Donna predeceased him in 1999. He was also predeceased by his brother, Marvin, and his sister, Arba Bly. Mr. White is survived by his two daughters, Jocelyn C. White, M.D., (Lynn Nakamoto), of Portland, Oregon, and Paula B. Wharton (Bernard Wharton), of Cincinnati, and three granddaughters, Eleanor Nakamoto-White, Bailey Wharton, and Grace Wharton. Private burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery. A celebration of his life will be held at the Cincinnati Country Club Monday, April 3 from 2 to 4 pm.
