Feltz, Walter C.Walter C. Feltz, 90, Stratford, died on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford, with Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County, where military rites will be conducted by the
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6352 of Stratford. Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Michlig, Phillip Postelnik, Mike Brusky, Roy Kaiser, Allan Kaiser and Randy Kaiser. The visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford, and on Saturday from 9:00 am until service time at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Walter was born on January 14, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, to Valentine "Bill" and Magdalene (Lemanski) Feltz. He attended Sacred Heart Parochial School in Castle, Wisconsin and Edgar High School. He was a veteran of the United States
Army serving in Europe during
World War II. After his honorable discharge, he worked as a milk hauler for South Edgar Cheese Factory until it closed in 1969. He then became employed full time at Rock Oil Refinery until his retirement. He enjoyed working in the woods, deer hunting, gardening and spending time at the cabin near Rib Lake. He married Esther A. Kaiser on July 22, 1958 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford. She died on October 13, 2016. Walt is survived by his sons, David (Kathy) Feltz of DeForest and Thomas Feltz of Stratford. He is also survived by 2 grandsons, Brian (Jill) Feltz and Brandon (fiancé - Madison Smith) Feltz. He is further survived by a brother, Frank (Doris) Feltz of Edgar, a sister, Joan (Frank) Noonan of Minneapolis, and a sister-in-law, Mary Feltz of Marshfield. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, sisters, Mary Michlig and Sister Margo (Theresa) Feltz and a brother Ted Feltz.
