RIDDLE, MR. WILL - age 95, of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord our God on November 3, 2014. He was born on June 16, 1919, to the late Albert and Carrie Gilmore Riddle. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 11 and served in the US Army 1942 - 1943. He had many occupations after leaving the Army, including coal miner, poured concrete, ran a wagon drill for TVA, worked at Rohm Haas, installed gas tanks for Exxon, and worked for Osborne Equipment Company as a truck driver, which he enjoyed most. His words of wisdom to his family were, "work hard, be faithful and true, and never lie, because one lie leads to another." Our dad never met a stranger, was always willing to lend a helping hand, and never complained about going to work. His motto was, "where there's will, there's a way!" He is survived by siblings, Mildred Johnson (Robert), Leroy Riddle, Mary Alice Williams; children, Joyce Ann Riddle, Geraldine Littlejohn, Willie Jo Harold (Willie), Carrie Jean Simmons, William Riddle (Frances), Elizabeth Kaye Riddle Hill (Judge), Ethel Faye Epps (John), Archie Lynn Riddle, Patricia Medina Felts, Jeffery Allen Riddle (Kim), Kimberly Marlese Taylor (James); numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and "adopted" son, Ike Simmons; and a host of other relatives. Mr. Riddle is preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Hattie Mae Billingsley Riddle; siblings, Catherine Riddle, Albert Riddle, Jr., Florence Albert Lee Riddle, Margaret Harshaw, Henry Riddle, Eddie Riddle; children, Gilbert Lavern Riddle, Paul Lawrence Riddle, and Kearn Riddle. The family would like to say a special thank you to the UT Hospice and UT Homecare Services. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, with visitation to begin at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Leroy Franklin officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Berry Highland South Cemetery.
