Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in the Chavis Family Cemetery in Bennettsville, South Carolina.
Vivian was born on Sept. 9, 1943, a daughter of the late Murray and Rita Quick Chavis. She was a devoted homemaker and retired after 22 years of service with Abbott Laboratories.
She served as a member of Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church and loved reading her Bible. She enjoyed watching Fox News, following politics and working crossword puzzles. Vivian loved her children and grandchildren and truly cherished time spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her son Bobby Ray Callahan, son-in-law Dennis Dial, brothers Bobby Chavis and Richard Chavis, and sister Jean Caddell.
Vivian is survived by her daughters Tabitha Callahan Dial of Laurinburg, Sheila Callahan Cox (Sam) of Wilmington, and Madelyn "Carol" Callahan of Laurinburg, nine grandchildren: Cody R. Callahan, Bryce Dial, Brett Dial, Liz Callahan, Kaitlyn Schlyer, Gavin Schlyer, Isabella Cox, Madeline Cox, and Samuel Cox, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
