Violet L. Spiker1932 - 2016 Violet "Louise" Spiker passed away at her home in Midlothian, Virginia on Monday the 22nd of August, 2016. Louise was born on April 17th, 1932 in Dodge City, Kansas to William E.Hood and Ruby I. Curley. The Hood family moved to the High Desert in the late 1930's and Louise lived there for most of her life. She had recently moved to Virginia where she was cared for by her youngest daughter, Becky Dalton and her family. During her life she worked in schools, rest homes, and hospitals earning her LVN certificate while raising her children. She was also a two time cancer survivor with the help, love, and care of her son Tim, daughters Cindy and Wendy, and her nephew Michael, and could not have gotten through her treatments without the devotion and companionship of her beloved little dog "Spot", who she called her 'cancer dog'. Louise will be remembered for her compassionate heart, her care for others, her wonderful pies, cakes, and breads, her gift of crocheting, knitting, quilting, and painting, and her years of love and devotion to her husband Ken. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth D. Spiker, her parents, Ed and Ruby Hood, her three beautiful sisters, Alice, Geneva and Ilene, and her brother, Eddy. She is survived by her loving children, Cindy (Ray) Hallett, Tim (Glenna) Spiker, Becky (Russell) Dalton, Wendy (Randy) Smith, Pattie (James) Coleman, Edie (Zeke) Best; her grandchildren; great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews....and her dog "Spot". We will miss her forever.(Cremation has already taken place in Virginia and a service will be held at a later to be determined date).
