Violet GooleyNov. 4, 1917 - Nov. 9, 2016CULVER - Violet Louise Fields-Leonard-Hull-Gooley, age 99, residing in Culver, Indiana, formerly of South Bend, passed away at 9:45 am Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at Miller's Merry Manor, Culver, Indiana. She was born on November 4, 1917, in Huntington, Indiana, to the late Joshua Floyd Fields and Dottie Fern (Cowen) Fields, and lived most of her life in South Bend. On November 7, 1937, in South Bend, Indiana, she was united in marriage to Frank Leonard, who died November 28, 1962. On March 24, 1967, in South Bend, she married Delbert Hull, who preceded her in death on March 27, 1982. On December 22, 1989, in South Bend, she married Edward Gooley, who died December 6, 2002.Violet is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael R. and Ruby Leonard of Culver; four granddaughters, Katie (Lowell) Kosak of Mishawaka, IN, Mindy Leonard of Farmington Hills, MI, Lori (Chad) McCullough of Lubbock, TX, Tara (Jeff) Wills of New Home, TX; seven great-grandchildren, Daniel and Noah Kosak, Ashley, Shelby and Cloe McCullough, Kayla and Rachel Wills; and her brother, Gerald D. Fields of Rochester. Her daughter, Susan Lybrook, sister, Norma Jean Fields, and three brothers, Ermal, Jimmy and Robert Fields, all preceded her in death.Violet was a member of Deer Run Church of Christ, South Bend, as well as a participant in the Ladies Circle of River Park Church of Christ where she briefly served as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed spending summers at Camp Idlewood on Juno Lake and traveling to many different places. She loved gardening and spending time cleaning up around the house. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016, at 12 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home - River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend.Pastor Lowell Kosak will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN.
