Viola LafrenzViola (Vi) Christine Strassburg Lafrenz, 95, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017 peacefully in her sleep. She was born on February 12, 1930 in Valley City, ND, to James and Edna (Lorenzen) Strassburg. She moved with her family to Minnesota in 1936, and graduated from high school in Luverne, MN.She married Rudolf (Rudy) Lafrenz on Oct. 6, 1940, in Luverne. They moved to Hardwick where they raised turkeys. They lived there until 1948 when they moved to Sioux Falls. She worked as a dental assistant for a time. She moved to Minnesota in 2004 after the passing of her husband.Viola was preceded in death by her husband Rudy and her son Darwin.Viola is survived by her son Duanne (Mary) of Wisconsin and their children Sarah (Brian) & Mark and 3 grandchildren; daughter-in-law Barbara of Minnesota; her 7 children Tracy (Colin), Shelly, Jill (Donovon), Heidi (Mike), Laura (Tim), Larry (Lori) and Robin (Garth) and 12 grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at the Waconia Moravian Church, 209 E. 2nd Street, Waconia, MN at 11:00 am on Monday October 2, 2017.
