LANCELLOTTI, REVEREND VINCENT of the Bronx, NY, passed away on Thursday, October 27th at Westchester Medical Center, NY. Father Lancellotti was born on February 9th, 1926 in Providence, RI. to Anna (Schiavone) Lancellotti and Vincenzo Lancellotti. After graduation from Mt. Pleasant High School, he served in the US Navy. He later studied Stenography and for many years was a court stenographer in Rhode Island. In the early 1960's, he left this profession to join the priesthood. Father Lancellotti was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest in 1968. He served the archdiocese of New York for thirty-three years as a teacher, parish priest and pastor. His first assignment as a newly ordained priest was at St. Mary's Church in Fishkill, NY. He then taught English at Archishop Stepinac High School in White Plains for several years. Following his teaching ministry, Father Lancellotti became pastor of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church in Elmsford, NY. He served there until his retirement in 2001. During his years as a teacher and parish priest, Father Lancellotti offered the fruits of his musical gifts to the communities he served. He was an accomplished pianist. He used his talents to produce and direct numerous musical programs for Stepinac, St. Mary's and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Father Lancellotti leaves four nieces: Carolyn Holden of Miami, Fla., Anne Lancellotti of Poughkeepsie, NY, Lynda Fosco of Providence RI, and Elyse Scherza of Carolina, RI. He was predeceased by his siblings: Joseph Lancellotti, Viola Lancellotti, Albert Lancellotti, Luco Lancellotti and Gilda Lancellotti; his nephew Michael Lancellotti; and his niece, Barbara Acosta. He also leaves behind grand nephews, a grand niece and great-grand nephews and nieces. Calling hours will be at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Elmsford on Sunday, October 30th from 8:00-10:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial at the church will follow on Monday, October 31st at 10:00 am. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Pawtucket, RI on Monday afternoon.
