Vernie Lee "Shotgun" Putty, 71, of Waco, passed Sunday June 25, at his home.

He was retired truck driver and a member of Star Hope Church.  He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Waco.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Pate Putty; one son, Ricky Lee Putty of Waco, Texas; five daughters: Connie Veselka of Axtell, Texas, Janice Ripley of Rockdale, Texas, Bonnie Woodridge of Morganfield, LeAnne Crabtree of Providence and Lisa Hess of Clay; three brothers: Lynville J. Putty and Launie R. Putty, both of Hopkinsville and Donald G. Putty of Mortons Gap; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 at Oakcrest Funeral Home.

Burial was in Oakcrest Cemetery in Waco, Texas.
