Valerie A. YoungJune 23, 1937 - April 13, 2017It is with deep sadness that we announce that Valerie "Val" Andrade Young (nee Hoskins) passed away on April 13, 2017 at the Victoria General Hospital. She was born on June 23, 1937 in Regina, Saskatchewan. Val had a long and fulfilling teaching career specializing in children with social, emotional, and academic difficulties. A love of travel brought Val around the world, to visit South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Scotland, England, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Madagascar, and Russia. She was predeceased by parents Marjorie and Clive Hoskins of Craven, Saskatchewan, husband Lorne Young of Carlyle, Saskatchewan, and sister Anne Ismond of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Val is survived by her husband Roy "Mac" McGregor, sisters-in-law Audrey Young of Carlyle, Saskatchewan and Velma Clark of Victoria, BC, brother-in-law Glenn Ismond of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and many beloved nieces, nephews, stepchildren, and step- grandchildren. You can make the world a better place by making yourself a better person. Val definitely made a difference in this world. Rest in peace until we meet again.
