ELYRIA – Trina G. Maskell (nee Bays), age 52, of Elyria passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake after a courageous battle with cancer.She was born on July 17, 1964 in Amherst, Ohio. Trina graduated from Elyria High School in 1982 and from Lorain County Community College earning two Associate Degrees.Trina was employed by the Amherst City Schools as a paraprofessional educator. She loved God, music, singing, riding motorcycles, shopping and fashion. She had an infectious smile and laugh that will be remembered by all who loved her. Her family was her life and nothing brought her more happiness than the time spent with them. She is survived by her husband, Chuck ; son, Matt Johnson, of Grafton; daughters, Jessica (John) Nagy, of Cleveland, Alyssa (Josh) Sulzener, of Canton; step-children, April Taylor and Adam Maskell; grandchildren, Lana, Parker, Ivan, Iris, Owen, Makena and Kaley; her father, Charles (Carol) Bays, of Richmond, VA; and her mother, Leda (David) Rafter, of Grafton; and her brother, Matt (Heather) Bays, of Carmel, Indiana. Trina was preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Bays. The family of Trina will receive friends on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 3rd at 11:30 a.m. at Church on the North Coast, 4125 N. Leavitt Road, Lorain. Pastor Steve Carney, a family friend, will officiate.
