Thomas Wiley, 86, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on Nov. 13, 2016, at Silver Treasures Assisted Living. He was born on Oct. 7, 1930, in Anderson, Indiana, son of the late Grace and Leslie Wiley. Tom served his country for a year in the U.S. Air Force. Following his discharge he went to Business College in Anderson. He then started his career in the auto parts business, eventually owning over 50 stores mostly in Indiana and Ohio. After retiring to St. Augustine, he built and operated the Anastasia Athletic and Racquet Ball Club. Tom was a big fan of racquetball, and he played every day until a few years ago. He also enjoyed duplicate bridge and took many trips to Europe and South America. Tom never had a quiet or boring day in his life. His enthusiasm was a wonderful quality of his. He is survived by his wife, Pat, whom he married in 1970; three children, Linda Wiley, Cindy Butterfield and Steve Wiley; sister, Ruth Rariden; two grandchildren, Zack Harnage and Corey Butterfield; four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who were dear to him. Tom also has three stepchildren, Kathy Tullis, Timothy O'Leary and Colleen O'Leary; three stepgrandchildren, Patrick O'Leary, Jenifer Tullis Russel and Timothy Tullis; and two step-great-grandchildren. Pat would like to express her appreciation to the management and staff of Silver Treasures for their love and the wonderful care given to her beloved Tom. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Smith officiating.
