FAIRBORN - Thomas C Piechowiak, 68, passed away at home on June 12, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana M Barker, grandson Dustin Horn, and his parents, Thomas S and Sophie C Piechowiak. He is survived by his children, Charles L Piechowiak (children - Brian, Mary, and Jesse) and his daughter, Debra M Laminack (spouse - William and children - Christian and Ellen); stepsons Jamie Barker and Terry Barker (spouse - Shilo and children - Terry Jr., Joshua, Michael, and Ciera), stepdaughter Sherry Horn (spouse - Keith and children - Brandon and Christina), sisters Connie Tipton (Jim) and Mary Pierce (Norman), and numerous great grandchildren (Ethan, Tyler, Hailey, Chasity, Mayla, Carson Reef, Dylan, Trevor, and Taylor), nephews and nieces, and his beloved dog, Merlin. Tom was born on September 10, 1946 in Lewiston, Maine. He served his country through the Vietnam Conflict and continued serving through his work with the Veteran's Adminstration after his retirement from the United States Air Force as a Master Seargent. Tom loved his job, loved being a member of the military, and he loved his country and was very proud of his service. He dedicated his life to his country through his military career and post-military work. He was a member of the New Carlisle American Legion. Tom was loved by his wife, his children, his stepchildren, family, and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 17, 2015 at 11:30 A.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn. The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service. Burial with military honors to follow in the Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, any donations should be made in his honor to the Unites States Veterans Administration Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
