Thomas F. "Tom" ParsonsSHELBY: Thomas F. "Tom" Parsons, 75, of Shelby, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 10, 2017.Tom was born on June 13, 1941, in Mansfield to Clifford R. and Gladys (Cairns) Parsons. He was a 1961 graduate of Shelby High School. Tom loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time supporting them by being at all their activities. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Tom was baptized May 25, 1997 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and enjoyed talking to people about the Bible and being with his congregation. This was of the utmost importance to him.He owned a Phillips 66 Oil Distributorship, and managed Denny's Restaurant in Mansfield, prior to owning and operating the Coffee Shop in Shelby. He retired from MTD, then went back to work with the Honeywell Corporation as an Energy Auditor for the State of Ohio. He had also been a past president of the Ohio Restaurant Association. He was an avid sports fan and golfer.Along with his wife, Patricia, he is survived by two children, Tammy Campbell and Bradley (Sara) Parsons, both of Shelby; three grandchildren, Chelsi, Jacob, and Joshua Campbell; and six siblings, Eddie Parsons of Crestline, Margie Hoover of Bucyrus, Nancy Schmidt of Delaware, Barb Fensch of Mansfield, Dave (Sandy) Parsons of Ashland, and Cindy (Bob) Mohler of Shelby.He was preceded in death by his dear parents.Calling hours will be from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m., with a memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1780 Middle Bellville Road, Mansfield.
