In memory of Thomas Joseph Mayo Sr., age 78, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 of a sudden heart attack in New Smyrna Beach, FL. He was born on July 7, 1938 in Surgoinsville, TN to his parents Lloyd B Mayo and Annie F. Mayo and was one of 9 children. He is preceded by his parents, and his Brothers, William Mayo, Lloyd Mayo, Francis Mayo, Howard Mayo, Johnny Mayo, and Sister Betty Mayo. He is survived by his Brother Kenneth Mayo and Sister Virginia Jordan,and his children Thomas J Mayo Jr., Michael A. Mayo, Lisa M. Schneider and Eric Fleshman. His grandchildren are, Daniel J. Schneider, Sarah Mayo, Jessa Mayo, Crista Mayo and Annabeth and Claira Fleshman. He went to school in Surgoinsville, TN and Kingsport, TN. He married Barbara L. Meck in August 28, 1959 and moved to Broadneck Road in Annapolis, MD and then to 921 Jackson Street, Annapolis, MD where they had three children together, Tommy, Michael (Tony) and Lisa. He became a certified licensed Electrician in 1968 and worked at the US Naval Academy in 1968 to 1993 for 25 years as an Electrician, DOD, US Federal Government employee. He enjoyed gardening, riding his motorcycle, working on fast cars, carpentry work and was considered a "Jack of all Trades" and Master of Electrician". But most of all he enjoyed being a loving, caring and protective Father with the biggest heart in the whole world! The viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 22nd at 11:00 am at the WM Reese & Sons Mortuary, 1922 Forrest Drive, Annapolis MD and the funeral will be held at 12:00 pm across the street at the Hillcrest Memorial Cemetary, 1911 Forest Drive, Annapolis, MD.
