Theresa Ventura Siragusa Our mother, Theresa Siragusa passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 27, in Petaluma, CA. She was 91 years old. Theresa Ventura Siragusa was born on October 27, 1925 in Pittsburg, California. Her parents were Gaetano and Palmina Camera, both from Amalfi, Italy. In 1928 the family moved to Francisco St. in North Beach where her two brothers Salvatore Camera (Betty) and Nick Camera (Cecile) were born. Our Mother attended Garfield Elementary, Francisco Jr. High and Galileo High School. In 1943 the family moved to the Inner Sunset on 12th Avenue where Mom met our father John Siragusa. John and Theresa were married in 1947 at Saint Anne's Church. Theresa and John have four children, Peter (Susan), Thomas (Sheila), TerriAnn (Stan), and John (Lynn), and happily raised them on the 1600 Blk of 40th Ave. In 1968 our father passed away at the young age of 41 and left our mother to raise four children. She was greatly supported by her mother Palmina (Nana) and many family and friends. Our mother was a lifelong proud Democrat. She was always the involved room mother at Holy Name and Sacred Heart Mothers Club. Our Mother's mark on life was the impressive way she raised her four children to grow up to be successful public servants and business professionals. In 1985 Theresa moved to Petaluma along with Nana. Theresa worked for the Bank of America from 1969 until she retired in 1988 where she met many wonderful friends and formed lifelong friendships. Theresa is survived by 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren who she so adored. Also surviving are several beloved nieces and nephews, and loving relatives in Pittsburg, CA, and Italy. Our Mother will always be remembered as a strong and loving person who was a friend to all. She will be greatly missed. A funeral mass will be held on Friday (today), December 2nd, 2016 at 11:00 AM, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 39th & Lawton Sts. San Francisco.
