BENECKE, Theresa V. passed on December 5, 2016 in Tucson, Arizona. She was a resident of The Fountains and formerly a resident of Saddle Brook in Tucson. Theresa was born on December 31, 1930 in Newark, New Jersey. She is preceded in death by Joseph and Julia Kollar of Garfield, New Jersey. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Norman L. Benecke; children, Lynn A. Benecke, Robert (Virginia) Benecke and Glenn (Kathleen) Benecke; nine grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Theresa loved to dance, and enjoyed traveling across Europe and Russia with her husband. She also enjoyed the ceramic arts and shared much of her work of art with her family. She was secretary for many Majors, Colonels and Generals at Picatinny Arsenal Research Facility and later devoting her time as a stay at home mom. Theresa will be dearly missed. Please join the family for a Service on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, 5910 E. 5th St., Tucson, AZ 85711. Interment will follow immediately at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Tucson, AZ 85712. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church.
