HUNTSVILLE - Teresa Lynn Welch, 44, of Huntsville, passed away Monday, January 23, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 28, 1972 in Lima, OH, to the late Tom Welch and Julie Barry Welch who survives in Huntsville. She was preceded in death by a grandmother, Olive Barry and uncle Ralph Thomas Barry.

She is survived by three children, Ashley (Jake) Beck of Austin, TX, Amanda Cottingham of New Carlisle, OH and Chelsea (Nathan Hill) Cottingham of Lewistown, OH, three grandchildren, Ethan and Emily Ramos and Tessa Hill, a brother, Steven (Renee) Welch of Troy, OH, two nieces, Brittany (Jeff) Williams of Sidney, OH, Alicia Welch of Cable, OH, a great niece, Riley Williams, her fiancé, James LeVan, of Huntsville and her sidekicks, Amy Downing, Jenny Jenkins Harshbarger and Stacey Holycross.

Teresa was a 1990 graduate of Indian Lake High School and earned her Bachelors and Masters in education from Wright State University. She was a longtime teacher at Bellefontaine City Schools. Her passion for teaching and her students were always a priority. Teresa was a fun-loving individual who always could be seen with a smile and loved to laugh. Kind hearted, she would help anyone in need. She enjoyed reading, gardening, knitting and running. She had a love for dogs especially her dogs, Max and Brutus. Teresa enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Teresa will be missed by all who knew her.

Per Teresa's request, her body will be cremated. No services are planned at this time. A gathering of remembrance will be held at a later date.
