RACINE - Teresa Elizabeth Lui (nee: Canossi), 71, passed away Thursday November 17, 2011 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare- All Saints. Teresa was born on May 3, 1940 in Racine, Wisconsin to the late Valentino and Wilhelmina (nee: Werk) Canossi. She graduated from William Horlick High School class of 1958 and was a member of the Elks Marching Band, carrying the American flag. She was united in marriage to Richard J. Lui at Christ Church United Methodist Church on March 30, 1963. Teresa had been employed by Piggly Wiggly on Douglas Ave. in Racine for 37 years retiring in 1996. She had a passion for getting to know her customers and having a good time with her co-workers. She was an active member of Christ Church United Methodist Church, the Belle City Senior Center, and enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, Florida and many other destinations across the country. She liked sitting in the sun in her backyard and planting flowers every summer. Above all she loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Surviving are her loving husband, Richard J. Lui; their children, Jacqueline (John) Wurster, of Sarasota, FL., John (Sue) Lui, of Racine; grandchildren Nicole and Cameryn Wurster, Jacob and Madilyn Lui and step grandson, Joshua Kroes. She is further survived by step-children Colleen (Randy) Borchardt, Barbara (Dave) Osborne, and Brenda (Eugene) Cook, all of Racine, nephew Michael Deschler and nieces Teresa Galloway, Andrea Deschler, Michelle Dant, all of Indianapolis, IN, and niece Lesly Deschler Canossi of NY, brother-in law Donald (Joan) Lui of Las Vegas, sisters-in-law Patricia Michel and Delores Jaklich both of Racine, nieces and nephews Diane Giambattista, Scott Lui, Sandra Gonzales, and David Lui all of LasVegas, Debra Ulinski, Margaret Kirchmeier, Cynthia Ames, Gina Markham all of Racine, Robert Jaklich and Brian Jaklich both of SanAntonio, TX and special cousins James Maier of Tonawanda, NY and Robert Canossi of CA. Teresa was preceded in death by her parents Valentino and Wilhelmina Canossi, sister Jacqueline Deschler Schultz, sister- in-law Mary Lui and nephew Donald Lui Jr. Funeral services for Teresa will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials to Christ Church United Methodist Church have been suggested.
