1928 ~ 2016Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and dear friend, Tarrant Owen (T.O.) Vickers, Jr., 88, passed away of natural causes on November 25, 2016, in American Fork, Utah. Vick was born on September 3, 1928 in Omaha, Texas, to Tarrant Owen Vickers, Sr. and Lulie Maude Garrett. He married Norma Layton on June 8, 1951 in Kaysville, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1964. For the past three years, T.O. resided in Highland, UT and was a member of the Highland 25th Ward. Prior to moving to Highland, T.O. lived in American Fork for 8 yrs. and Centerville, UT for almost 30 yrs. T.O. spent his entire adult life in the automotive industry beginning as a mechanic, later working as an executive with Chrysler Corp., and finally as a General Manager of a local car dealership.As a convert to the LDS Church, Vick was extremely grateful for his testimony and the blessings that came to him and his family through church service.Vick is survived by his three children, Vickie Lynn (Brian) Lee, Billy Jack (Natalie) Vickers, and Mark Allen (Deanne) Vickers, 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma, his parents, and his two brothers, George Henry Vickers and Robert Lehman Vickers. In 2001, Vick suffered a stroke that left him paralyzed on the right side of his body. Through the remainder of his life he was dependent on caregivers and medical personnel for his comfort and care. The family wishes to thank each and every one of these angelic souls who gave such loving and selfless care.A viewing will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the LDS Chapel at 11162 North Alpine Highway, Highland, UT 84003. A brief memorial service will follow from 7:30-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E., Bountiful, UT.
