Svetomir Sveta Stojadinovic RACINE Svetomir passed away peacefully at home on January 25, 2015 surrounded by the love of his family after a long and hard-fought battle with Alzheimers Disease. Sveta was born on August 13, 1941 in Natalinci, Serbia and the son of the late Milan and Milunka (nee: Nikolic) Stojadinovic. As a young man, he served in the Yugoslavian Army. On April 26, 1964, he was united in marriage to Miroslava Petrovic in Serbia. In 1967, Sveta together with his wife and son immigrated to the United States, living and working in Racine which became his home for the next 48 years. Sveta greatly loved the United States and was proud to live in this country. He retired from Chrysler in 2000 after 32 years. He was an active member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church having served on the board many times. Sveta enjoyed fishing, gardening, sports, the outdoors, and above all spending time with his family and grandchildren. His family was the most important thing in his life. Svetomir was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Miroslava, loving sons Zlatko; Dejan (Nada), Petar (Julie) and Dedino Sunces Milan, Hunter, Kristina, Sayge, Neven and Luka. He is also survived by brother Zivota and his late wife Danica, nephew Svetomir (Steve) and Ljiljana (Lily) Hubbard with their respective families, a vast and close circle of extended family including the Todorovic and Markovic families, and numerous Kumovi and Dear Friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Milan and Milunka, brother Predrag and sisters Ljiljana and Kasija. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, January 28, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. The funeral will take place on Thursday, January 29 at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 826 State St. in Racine with Father Dragan Mitrovic officiating. Burial will take place at the Forest Hill Cemetery, 3301 E. Forest Hill Ave. in Oak Creek. Please send condolences to www.purath-strand.com.
