June 18, 1918 ~ Nov. 18, 2016Salt Lake City-Suzuko Nagata passed away peacefully on Friday, November 18, 2016, at her home in Salt Lake City due to natural causes.Suz was born on June 18, 1918, in Corinne, Utah. She was the daughter of Heinojo and Nofu (Watanabe) Sato. Suz was the sixth child of nine siblings. She graduated from Box Elder High School in 1936. Suz married the love of her life, Sam Nagata, on November 28, 1942, in Malad, Idaho. She worked hard by his side on their farm in Corinne. She was an active member of the Buddhist Church. Suz had many talents and hobbies including: sewing, cake decorating, crafts and fishing. However, she was most known for growing beautiful flowers and cooking delicious food. Suz loved being around her family and friends and everyone loved being around her because of her kindness, generosity, and great smiles.Surviving are her children: Jeanne (Isamu) Nagasawa, Bremerton, WA; Elaine Nagata, Salt Lake City, UT; David (Julia) Nagata, Bountiful, UT; grandchildren: Yukio (Stephanie Cordova) Nagasawa; Katsuyo (Darren Schack) Nagasawa; Nicole Nagata; and great-grandchild Keiji Schack. Preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings: Hisase Watanabe, Fusae Shiotani, Shigeichi Sato, Miyoko Sato, Nob Sato, Yae Nisogi, Sam Sato and Kuch Sato.Special thanks to Susan Cook, family friend who helped care for mom for several years.Funeral services will be held Friday, December 9, 2016, at 12:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT.
