Spurgeon E. WildasinDecember 28, 1932 - March 2, 2017Spring GroveSpurgeon E. Wildasin, 84, passed away suddenly at home on March 2, 2017. He was the loving husband of Phyllis I. (Keasey) Wildasin, who passed away in 2012. Spurgeon was born on the family farm in Stoverstown on December 28, 1932 and was one of eight sons of Charles and Anna (Kessler) Wildasin. He proudly served his country in the U.S.
Army and was honorably discharged. He worked for Campbell Chain in York for many years prior to retiring. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stoverstown and Spring Grove
VFW Post #5265.He is survived by his son, Steven M. Wildasin of Thomasville; and his daughter, Linda S. Wildasin of Rehoboth Beach DE. A funeral service in celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stoverstown, 4767 Lehman Rd., Spring Grove with Rev. Dr. Bradley H. Dayett officiating. He will be laid to rest following the service next to his wife at St. Paul Union Cemetery in Stoverstown with military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewings will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove and on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Family services are under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc. of Spring Grove.In lieu of flowers; contributions in his memory may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
