Song "Debbie" RyskaMay 4, 1933 - January 15, 2015Song Pun Kim "Debbie" Ryska was born on May 4, 1933 in Yi Chun Yu-Chu Kyung Kido South Korea. Song was the only girl in the previous four generations. Song was treated as a princess. She fought a very courageous battle of stomach cancer. She passed away at 4:15 on January 15, 2015. Song owned and operated a laundry service business in which she met Gary Ryska. While he was stationed in Korea after a lot of coercion and persistence on Gary's part they married in March of 1969 in Korea. Gary was then transferred back to the States where he was stationed in Texas, later transferred to Germany. Song stayed in Texas and worked at the base Mess Hall as a cook. Gary was honorably discharged from the Army in 1971; they moved to Nampa, Idaho where they both worked at the Idaho State School until retiring. Song was loved by everyone she met. She belonged to the DAV, VFW and Vietnam Veterans. She enjoyed going to Nampa Senior Center, Nampa Bingo, and playing penny slot machines. One of her greatest loves was her dogs: Buddy, Suni, Mollie, and Patches with Mollie being her favorite. Song would say to Mollie "look we have the same nose". She belonged to the Intercultural Church of The Nazarene (ICN) where she loved the children and church members. Song is survived by her brother in law & sister in law LeRoy and Bonnie Ryska of Givens Hot Springs; nieces and nephews, Anthony & Priscilla Ryska of Nampa, Jim & Teresa Ryska of Homedale, Alan & Brenda Lish of McCammon, and many nieces and nephews from Washington State and the Idaho area, grand-nieces and nephews and great grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary, her parents, siblings, sister-in-law Janet Severns and niece Pamela Ryska Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to the Wounded Warrior Project. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Burial will follow in the Kuna Cemetery.
