Sondra Slaughter passed away October 19, 2016 in Littleton. She was 78 years old. She was born on June 14, 1938 in Crowley, CO to Allen L. "Roy" and Mildred (Swank) Johnson. She attended Adams School until she was 16 years old. Sondra married Bobbie Lee Slaughter in 1959 and he preceded her in death in 1992. Together they moved to Erie in 1964 from the Denver metro area. She worked for Ball Brothers in the 70's, was a
funeral director in the 90's, but her passion was providing child care. She finally retired around 1998. Sondra loved to fish, camp and cheer on the Denver Broncos. She would cheer, scream and in her younger years would even run with them in the living room during games. Sondra was preceded in death by her husband Bobbie Lee Slaughter, Sr.; her parents; her brother Thaine Johnson; and her sisters Patricia Stockton, Doris Morgan, and Marjorie Strouse. She is survived by her son Buddy Slaughter and his wife Sharon Young of Longmont; her daughter Amy Slaughter and her spouse Sara Navarro of Pinewood Springs, CO; her brothers Rex Johnson of Colorado Springs and Dick Johnson of Fruita; her grandchildren Samantha Slaughter of Hudson, CO, Janelle (Keith) Miller of Broken Bow, NE, and Matt (Nicole) Young of Berthoud, CO; and her great grandchildren Justin Miller of Broken Bow and Nolan and Maria Young of Berthoud. Visitation 5:00-7:00 PM Monday October 24, 2016 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Funeral service 11:00 AM Tuesday October 25, 2016 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
