Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 220 Church St., St. Joseph, with Father Thomas McNally officiating. Burial will follow at Ruggles Cemetery in Baroda. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 4 PM until 7 PM, with the rosary being recited at 6:30 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Shirley was born on January 31, 1942, in South Bend, IN to Joseph & Gertrude (Palkowski) Pendzinski. On October 26, 1963, she married her high school sweet heart, Robert Niezgodski, at St. Stanislaus Church in South Bend. Shirley worked and retired from Lakeshore Hollywood Elementary School after 13 years. She was proudly known as Mrs. N by all of her students. One of her greatest loves was for Elvis, she attended 3 concerts with her best friend, Karen Mitowski. Shirley was an avid member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She also enjoyed reading, scrapbooking and mowing the lawn. Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Lisa (Stephen) Gentry of Lake Forest, IL and Lynn (Robert) Baldwin of Brownsburg, IN; grandchildren, Katie and Ashley Gentry & Jocelyn and Elizabeth Baldwin; siblings, Dave (Kathy) Pendzinski and Sue (Ernie) Tranberg. The joy of our sorrow is that mom is free from Alzheimer's Disease. Mom, rest in peace, job well done. We love you and miss you.
