Anthony, Sharon Arizona lost a truly remarkable woman with the recent passing of Sharon Lynn Anthony, age 61. Sharon was a midwester girl, born on May 4, 1955 in Trumbull County, Ohio. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Hiram College in 1978 and her Nursing Degree from Lakeland Community College in 1980. She worked as an RN providing patient care at a number of hospital facilities in Ohio, including the Cleveland Clinic. She moved to Arizona in 1988 and received her MBA in 1989 from the University of Phoenix. On January 3, 1992, she married another of Ohio's finest, Michael J. Plucinsky. Sharon accomplished much in her years as a Registered Nurse and Hospital Administrator. She took on increasing management responsibilities at Samaritan Health Systems, Baptist Hospitals and Health Systems, and Maricopa County Correctional Health Services. At the time of her death, she was the CEO of Select Specialty Hospitals in Phoenix, AZ, providing long-term acute care on the campuses of St. Josephs Hospital and Banner University Medical Center. Over the years she also worked to advance the interest of numerous non-profit and professional organizations, including The , Valley Forward, The Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association, and The Arizona Perinatal Regional System. Sharon charged hard through life, but always some how managed to live in the moment. She was genuinely concerned about other people and their problems. She helped countless friends and others navigate the world of health care. She will be remembered not only for her unflagging willingness to help others in need, but also for her smile and her laugh. Her smile was constant; laughter was one of her closest friends. She loved the beach and the ocean, dancing to the blues, dogs backyard barbecues, Rombauer Chardonnay, New Orleans, and ordering room service. Throughout her extraordinary life, Sharon made friends and touched many lives as a caring friend, mentor and leader. She was in the prime of her life and career when she was stricken unexpectedly with viral cardiomyopathy. She left this world on March 28, 2017. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Howard W. Anthony and Dorothy (Ashland) Anthony, as well as her precious dogs Rambo, Indica, Trent, Blue, Wilma and Snowflake. She is survived by her loving husband Michael Plucinsky, as well as devoted dogs Emerson and Jamaica. She is also survived by cousins, sisters-in-lay, nephews, nieces, co-workers and countless friends.
