Sarilda Sue Bezy Anderson, 80FISHERS - Sarilda Sue Bezy Anderson, 80, of Fishers, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at her home.She was born on February 3, 1936 to Karl and Crystal (Janney) Bezy in Muncie, Indiana. She was baptized, had 1st Communion, and was confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Muncie.Sarilda attended Burris School and graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Elementary Education. She taught kindergarten through second grade for Fort Wayne Community Schools for many years, and taught kindergarten for Unity Lutheran School for five years.Sarilda was a member of American Association of University Women, National Teachers Association and Fort Wayne Teachers Association. She enjoyed bowling in the teachers league and playing golf in the Arlington Park golf league in Fort Wayne. Sarilda had many fond memories of summers at Pocahontas Swim Club where her children participated on the swim team.With her young family, she enjoyed camping in a pop-up camper through the Western and Northeastern states. They visited many national parks on these trips during summer vacations from school. A favorite place was Traverse City, MI where the Anderson family camped at a state park for many summers. Happy times were enjoyed at Siesta Key, FL at Casa Mar Beach condominiums where Sarilda and Neil owned a beachside condo. Their children and grandchildren still enjoy visiting there as well as do cousins, nieces and other family members. Sarilda and Neil moved to Fishers in 2012 to be near their grandchildren and enjoy many events with them. Family picnics and swimming at the River Glen swim pool were some of her favorite memories. Sarilda had a passion for reading, going back to her childhood; she knew she wanted to be a teacher from childhood as well. Sarilda also enjoyed meeting friends for lunch and had kept in touch with some best friends for more than fifty years.She is survived by her husband, Neil Anderson of Fishers; son, Todd Anderson of Orlando, FL; daughter, Ann Waren (Randy) of Fishers; grandchildren, Isabelle and Jack Waren of Fishers; sister, Sue Winebrenner of Fort Wayne; nephews, Devon Brezy of Chicago and Jim Anderson of Fort Wayne; nieces, Sue Davis of Fort Wayne and Denise Bezy Gothard (Tony) of Muncie; and cousin, Byron Park of Richmond.In addition to her parents, Sarilda was preceded in death by her brother, Don.Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Christ the Savior Lutheran Church, 10500 East 126th Street in Fishers, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to the time of service.
