Mohr, Sarah Barbara "Sally"Sarah Barbara "Sally" Mohr, 97, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 of natural causes at Riverside Village.Sally was born on January 7, 1920, in Oskaloosa, Kansas. She was the daughter of the Late John E. and Corinne A. (Icks) Nicholson Sr. She married Frederick E. "Fritz" Mohr on November 23, 1944 in Elkhart. Fritz died May 28, 2004.Surviving is her son, David A. Mohr and wife Melonie of Elkhart; grandchildren, Aaron Mohr of Elkhart , Andrea Delaney and husband Mark of Bartlett, Ill., and her 3 great granddaughters, Caitlin, Kristin and Elizabeth Delaney all of Bartlett, Ill., and sister Patricia Durben of Edwardsburg, Mich. In addition to her parents and husband, 3 brothers, Bill, John Jr. and Robert Nicholson preceded her in death.Sally worked as an export secretary at the Selmer Company for 32 years, retiring in 1983. She formerly worked at Miles Laboratories for several years, prior to her marriage. She graduated from Elkhart High School. Sally was a longtime and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, was in the church bowling league. She also did volunteer work at the church, and was a member of the ladies aid and the OWLS Senior Group. In her spare time she enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles.Services celebrating the life of Sarah Mohr will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart, where friends are invited to visit with her family 1 hour prior. Pastor Mel Meyer of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate, with Deaconess Andrea Delaney assisting with the service. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request memorials to Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Court, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or Wellfield Botanical Gardens, 1011 N. Main St. Elkhart, IN 46514. Sally's family would like to thank the Center for Hospice and staff at Riverside Village for the excellent care given to our mother and grandmother.
