Oklahoma City-Sandra Agnes Schnopp Barnett, 77, of Oklahoma City, died peacefully at the Grace Living Center in Oklahoma on Dec. 2, 2016, surrounded in love by her family and friends.She was born on April 14, 1939 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts the daughter of Conrad Schnopp Sr. and Grace Mispel Cooper. She attended Dalton High School, graduating her last year in 1957 from Edward Little High School in Auburn, Maine. After graduating, she joined the United States Air Force where she met her husband Freddie Junior Barnett and eventually settled in Oklahoma. It was there that she raised three beautiful children.Beginning her working career at the age of 12, Sandy became a compassionate caregiver while caring for children and home. It was then she realized her future would always include helping and guiding those she loved and knew. Sandy ultimately became a nurse and continued her calling for over 45 years. Although there were struggles, she instilled a love for life and maintained strong beliefs with high values and influenced those she loved in a positive way. Sandy always strove to look good, be good and do good.Beside family responsibilities, Sandy enjoyed her gardening, her desire for good health, reading, dancing and the gift of gab. She was thankful for the internet to keep in touch with family and friends. If Sandy had a goal, she would complete it with full responsibility and stay committed.She loved nature and longed for the hills of the Berkshires. As such she would return home for family visits and stay connected. She leaves her son Fred F. Barnett, daughters Tina Richardson and her husband Johnny, Penny Gabeland her husband Keith, grandson Josh Lively, great grandson Ashton Lively and granddaughter Kami Barnett all of Oklahoma. Sister Sally A Wendling of Dalton,Ma, brother Conrad J. Schnopp Jr. of Dalton, Ma, brother Lawrence W. Cooper of North Adams, Ma, Frank (Todd) Cooper III of Poland Springs, Maine and step brother Joseph A. Varano of Tulsa, Oklahoma as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.SERVICE: In keeping with Sandy's wishes, services will be private. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to your local Hospice.
