Sandra F. Sweitzer 1947—2016Sandra Faye Sweitzer, 69 of Lanark, died Saturday April 2, 2016 at her home. She was born on February 2, 1947 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Edmund and Irene (Reints) Suess. Sandra attended Orangeville Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1965. She married Franklin Sweitzer on June 30, 1973 and had three children: Terry, Connie, and Kevin. Sandra was a retired bus driver for Eastland Schools. A devoted mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and baking. She was a member of Cherry Grove Church of the Brethren. She is survived by her two sons, Terry (Valerie) Sweitzer, Kevin (Lydia) Sweitzer, and a daughter Connie (John) Onley; grandchildren Hunter Onley, Benelli Onley, Kole Hauptman, Nichole Sweitzer, Caleb Sweitzer, Nyla Hauptman, Ian Sweitzer, and Luke Sweitzer all of Lanark; two brothers, Thomas (Barb) Suess of Freeport and Kenneth Suess of Cedarville and sister, Suzanne Suess of Sterling. Sandra was preceded in death by her husband Franklin, her parents, and 1 brother Gerald Suess. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday April 7, 2016, at Cherry Grove Church of the Brethren of Lanark. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday April 6, 2016, at Russell Frank Funeral Home in Lanark. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
