Doris Rambo was born to the Pearl Sr. and Beatrice Simmons (whom preceded her in death) in 11/14/1935 Canton Mississippi. Her father and mother introduced her to Jesus as a young child and she accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and was baptized. She lived for Jesus until God called her home (date?). Siblings that preceded her in death were Theon Simmons, Kenneth Simmons and Verneda McIsaac. 

In 1959 Doris came to Kansas City, MO with 2 daughters, Linda and Jackie. Later she gave birth to 3 sons, Ralp, Vincent, and Reggie. In her pursuit for church fellowship, she joined Sunlight Missionary Baptist church under the leadership of Julius Rambo. This church family helped her ily grand her family grow spiritually in the Lord. She was a faithful member at Sunlight until her union in marriage to Emanuel Rambo December 3rd 1978. She then became the First Lady of TrueLove Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, counseled and consoled many within their membership until her illness. In addition, she served with other women in the Minister Wive's Association. 

She was a hard worker. She worked catering parties, in a nursing facility, Wilcox Electronics and Bendix (known as Honeywell today) from where she retired. She had many friends and  family that regarded her highly.  She was a friendly woman, always had a smile and didn't believe in dissention. She had a heart for God that desired to treat people with Love, and to live in Peace and Harmony with others. She loved to laugh and to offer words of encouragement.

Doris was a woman of many talents. She was an extraordinary seamstress. She beautifully made most all of the clothing that she wore and made accessories such as hats, bags earrings etc. She also made sewed for others as well. She was a good cook, mainly known for her famous "Coconut Cake", which she made totally from scratch. She enjoyed decorating her home. She was a very creative person. 

Doris loved her family, both immediate and her beloved extended family. Left to rejoice in her life and to mourn her death are:

Beloved Extended Family: Jeanetta Wallace, Jean Rambo, Joann & Tim Hughes, Sharon & Anthony Ersery, Brenda Green, Patricia & Maurice Gadson, Lora & Jeffrey Johnson, Stevie Rambo, Samyel & Genise Ward, Peaches??
