Stephen Olin Richey, Jr., of Vienna, passed away at home surrounded by family on Monday, November 21, 2016. Steve was born on February 3, 1929 in Washington, DC. Beloved husband of Nancy Richey for 13 years. Loving father of Theresa Ogle, Diana Myrah (John), Michelle Rimel (Larry) and Stephen Richey, III (Stephanie) and loving stepchildren, Marie Spencer (Rob), Katherine Flowe (Charles), Edward Hall (Heather) and Timothy Hall (Shannon), grandfather "Pop Pops" to 19 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Predeceased by his first wife Barbara A. Richey.
Steve served 34 years in the federal government retiring from the Army Material Command as Branch Chief of the Product Improvement Program. He served in The DC National Guard and retired as LTC in the United States Army. Steve held various leadership positions in the DC American Legion, the 310th Command Association, the 260th Association and the Sons of the American Revolution. The family will receive friends at the MONEY & KING FUNERAL HOME, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, Va., on Friday, November 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 26 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 8601 Wolftrap Rd., Vienna, VA.
