Ruth "Panky" Horne, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and devoted wife, age 85, born to the late Willard Brothers and Lily Johnson, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles CA, on April 14, 2019. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, April 27, 2019 at King Jesus Bible Way Church 11737 S. Figueroa St. Los Angeles, CA 90061. Burial will follow at Rose Hills Cemetery 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, CA 90601.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Wilbur Horne, sister; Carolyn Helms, and granddaughter; Jaynie Lauren Williams. 

Audrey is survived by her daughter, Ramona Horne; sons, Tommy Lee, Jimmy, and Grover Horne; brother; Dwight Johnson and wife Pat; granddaughter, Shaniqua Horne; grandsons Kwame Sr. and Arnold Horne; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

As a young child, Panky began a passion for singing and playing guitar with her mother at Lanes Creek Baptist Church in Marshville, and with the “Hildreth Clan.” Her passion for music continued through life as she served as the choir director at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church for many years. She retired from Lowell General Hospital after many years of service. After retirement she enjoyed cooking for her family and baking goods to share with others. Panky also enjoyed her weekly lunch dates with her high school classmates and friends. Among many things, Audrey was a loving friend to many and always encouraged others. 

The family will receive friends and family from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Sunday, April 28, 2019 at The Proud Bird 11022 Aviation Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
