Ruth L. Morse1924 - 2015Ruth L. Morse, 90, of Oregon, Wis., formerly of Kenosha, passed away peacefully while sleeping on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, at Oregon Manor. She was born on July 10, 1924, in Spencer, Iowa, to David and Evelyn (Evenson) Avrill. Ruth married Harold Rhiel on March 22, 1942, in Grand Meadow, Minn., and he preceded her in death on March 20, 1945. She was united in marriage to Elwyn Morse Sr. on Oct. 8, 1947, in Norwood, Iowa, and he preceded her in death on April 10, 1987. For most of Mom's life, she worked on a dairy farm. She was a hard worker and taught her children to work as well. The only thing she loved more was her family. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren and considered them her greatest accomplishment. Mom's home was always open for company and many took comfort spending time with her. She reached out to many in her lifetime, helping whenever she could, listening always with a kindness and acceptance that made her so special.She was also preceded in death by, her parents; her son, Elwyn Morse Jr. on Nov. 4, 1964; her daughter-in-law, Tammy Morse; her granddaughter, Jamie Morse- Holcomb on July 30, 2014, and five step siblings, Herman, Gaylord, Kenneth, Lester and Ardythe Wood. Ruth is survived by, seven children, Leland (Gretchen) Morse of N.C., Barbara (James) Kadrlik of Arizona, Anthony Morse of Arizona, Susan (Steven) Wirth, Anita (Michael) Struna, Wendy (Kevin) Muller and Dawn (Roy) Berndt, all of Wisconsin; 19 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; her sister, Carol Callahan of Kenosha and Florida; her step-sister, Eunice Huber, as well as nieces, nephews and friends.Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 11 a.m. at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, with interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
