Russell Owen Dorey, of East Tawas, passed away peacefully under the loving care of his family on Saturday, December 22, 2012, age 54 years. Russell was born on October 7, 1958 in Tawas City to Francis and Rosetta (Alda) Dorey. He worked as a janitor for 17 years at Tawas Tool. He also worked many years for Capital Carpet Cleaning. Those who knew and loved Russell will always remember how he truly enjoyed bowling, racing, and spending time with his grandson. He was a very kind and sincere hearted man who will be truly missed by all who knew him. Russell is survived by his loving daughter, Angela Dorey of Tawas City, his grandson, Brendan Nelkie, sisters, Bonney (Al) Cooper, Linda Perkins, and Sandy Ackles; many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Russell is preceded in death by his parents, Rosetta and Francis Dorey, and a sister, Judy Smith. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and his family will welcome friends at the Tawas Eagles in the lower level for a celebration of his life and fellowship meal on Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.
