Rumaldo Rios NavarroMidlandRumaldo (Ray) Rios Navarro Sr., of Midland, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017.Revelation 22:13I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.God saw it fit to send his Angel of mercy to carry his son on their wings and bring him home. Proud to be his son he said: Lord I am ready.At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, a celebration of life worship service will be held at Lewallen Garcia Pipkin Funeral Home. Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017 at the funeral home with Reverend Martin Ortega Officiating with graveside service in Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery.Rumaldo was born on May 20, 1924, in Jourdanton, Texas, to Felix and Ernesta Navarro. He married the love of his life, Mickaela Flores, in San Angelo, Texas, on June 4, 1949.Rumaldo was a member of Iglesia Bautista Emanuel for 56 years. Rumaldo loved the Lord and served in many areas including Sunday school teacher, choir, youth counselor, mission trips to Mexico, church bus driver, Vacation Bible School and volunteering in other mission action projects.He had a passion for hymns, always singing, playing his guitar and harmonica. He loves singing with his family and his wonderful church friends. He enjoyed baking and cooking. His last occupation was in the Sanitation Department for the City Of Midland.We will miss all of his funny stories and his great sense of humor. He loved his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Throughout the years he spent many hours getting them to and from school and always with a snack in the back-seat.He always encouraged us to love the Lord with all our hearts, go to church, Pray and read the Bible.Rumaldo is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Mickaela Flores Navarro; son Rumaldo (Ray) Navarro Jr. and wife Margie of Midland, Texas; daughters Lucy(Lulu) Navarro, Nancy Navarro Aguirre and husband Ronnie, Cindy Megan Navarro, all of Midland, Texas and Elizabeth Ann Navarro of Odessa, Texas; grandchildren Sarah, Johnny, Michael Ray, Fabian, Kaela and Alina; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Other survivors include his three brothers and three sisters, Paul Navarro and Joe Navarro both of San Angelo, Texas, Ventura Navarro of Del Rio, Texas, Paula N. Reyes and Francisca ( Frances) N. Casarez both of San Angelo, Texas and Maria N. Talamentes of Dallas, Texas.Rumaldo is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Ernesta Navarro; newborn daughter Elizabeth Navarro; brothers Jesse Navarro Sr. and Felix Navarro Jr.; and sister Felicita N. Perez.Pallbearers are Michael Ray Navarro, Fabian R. Aguirre, Alex Castaneda, Carlos Aaron Velez, Joseph R. Martinez, Roy Urias, Elias Casarez and Paul Pequeno. Honorary pallbearers Eden Amethyst Navarro and Emma Adelina Velez.The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Midland and the wonderful staff for their loving, caring support and to all our friends and family for your amazing love and support during this difficult time.
