ALPINE - Roy Dale Haney, 79, of Odessa, Texas was born on January 21, 1937 in La Grange, Texas to Price and Flora Haney. He passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016 in Alpine. We are celebrating the life lived by a simple and humbled man. He conducted himself by morals, work ethics, character and by example. His tenacity to never give up and his ability to improvise fixing all will never be forgotten. There are so many amazing things that can describe our father, but the lessons that he left us will be part of our character and life forever. He was a great man of few words, little needs and very little fuss or fanfare. When he spoke, you paid attention because he wasn't interested in repeating himself. He was very wise, always expanding his education through traveling, reading and watching educational programming. We will always be thankful for the impact he made in our lives and he will be missed tremendously. We love you dad.He is survived by his wife, Elena Haney of Odessa, Texas; four sons, Roy David of Weatherford, Texas, James Doyle of Loveland, Colorado, Preston Dean of Houston, Texas and Lynn Dale of Waco, Texas; daughter, Ecaterina Haney of Chicago, Illinois; four sisters, Lossie Whitehead of Rhome, Texas, Virginia Ward of Odessa, Texas, Rita Black of Paris, Texas and Nell Fernadez of Rhome, Texas; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. There are no services scheduled at this time.
