Rosie Mae Cross, 88, of Rockford departed this earthly life Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, in Swedish-American Hospital after a short illness. Rosie was born Feb. 21, 1929, in Bolivar, Tennessee, the daughter of George Sr. and Daisy Jones.
Rosie lived in Rockford 43 years, coming from Brownsville, Tenn. She married James Cross, who preceded her in death. She was self-employed as a child-care provider and attended the House of God Church. She graduated from Carver High School in Brownsville.
Rosie leaves to cherish many loving memories, daughters, Emma Cross-Wiggins, Theresa Keller; sons, Harvey Keller, William Cross, James Woods II, Jerry Keller and Bobby Keller; 5 grandchildren Dianna Cross ,James Woods iii ,Charles Jones, Sharon Davy, Kimberly Jackson eight great-grandchildren; sister, Martha (Mac) Brown; brothers, George Jones Jr., Tommy Ray Jackson, William Lee Jackson Cleveland Boles Jr. and Donell (Lashon) Boles; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by husband; parents, George Sr. and Daisy -Smith; daughter, Wilma Cross; and two sisters.

Service is at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, in Ephesians Missionary Baptist Church, 1112 Taylor St., with visitation from 8 a.m. to time of service; Superintendent Curtis Walker will officiate. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home, 2429 W. State St.
