Rose C. Romano1926 - 2013Rose C. Romano, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, 87, of Kenosha passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Wynwood-Brookdale in Kenosha. Rose was born on Jan. 5, 1926, in Kenosha, the daughter of the late Frank and Carmella (Costanzo) Brittelli. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha, graduating from Kenosha High Schoo. She married Joseph G. Romano on Aug. 5, 1950, in Kenosha. She was employed as a secretary at Zion Industries and Kenosha Public Library throughout the years. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Italian American Ladies Auxiliary, Kenosha Senior Center, Racine Ballroom Dance Club, and many other area dance clubs in S.E. Wisconsin and N.E. Illinois. Her hobbies included Round, Polka, and Ballroom dancing; she also taught dance with her husband for 25 years. Rose enjoyed being a homemaker, reading biographies, watching classic movies, and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Joseph G. Romano of Kenosha; her children, Marie (Duane) Merkel of S. Milwaukee, Wis., Joseph F. (Jean-Marie) Romano of Flagstaff, Ariz., Denise Denslow of Fond du Lac, Wis.; a brother, Joseph Brittelli of Kenosha; sisters, Oakley Gerth, Dolores (Lee) Hunkeler both of Kenosha; 3 grandchildren, Anthony Denslow, Adeena Denslow, Julia Romano; and a great-granddaughter, Sarena Hyland. A visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church from 9:30-11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. Entombment All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to Hospice Alliance would be appreciated. Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
