Rose M. Bentley 1921 - 2016Rose M. Bentley, 95, of Springfield, passed away at 8:02 a.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Rose was born on August 10, 1921 in Springfield, the daughter of Tony and Clara Magnacovala Sicilia. She married Melvin J. Bentley on April 6, 1941 in St. Louis, MO; he preceded her in death on May 8, 1993. Rose enjoyed walking, bingo, shopping, and dancing. She was a feisty and opinionated woman. Her family enjoyed her good cooking. She was also preceded in death by her son, Edward "Ed" J. Bentley; her parents; three sisters; and one brother. She is survived by her grandchildren, Stacey (husband, Chad) Rogers of Normal and Edward Bentley, Jr. of MI; three great-grandchildren, Joey Bentley and Emily and Haley Rogers; daughter-in-law, Kathy Bentley of Springfield; and numerous other extended family members. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A Funeral Ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
