Rodgers LoosPEORIA - Rodgers "Rodg" D. Loos, 88, of Peoria, IL, passed away at 12:13 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2016, at Sharon Health Care Elms in Peoria.Rodgers was born on October 3, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri, to George M. and Ruth Dandes Loos. He first married Peggy Powell in October of 1954. She preceded him in death. He then married Nora Jane Cary of Peoria on August 31, 1963, in Cahokia, Illinois. She survives.Surviving are three daughters, Christine (Tim) Brucker-Shull of Gibson City, IL, Susan (Dennis) Mizer of Fredericktown, OH, and Rachel (Ron) Huenefeld of Sparland, IL; one son, Thomas (Cindy) Loos of Edwards, IL; thirteen grandchildren, Stacy (Ryan) Fisher, Eric (Kate) Brucker, Dan (Jessica DeLost) Brucker, Alana (Agustin) Hernandez, Bernard Rodgers Mizer, Erin Hall, A.J. Hall, Jessica, Glenn, Robert, Charles and Valerie Loos and Aleatha Gaffney; and eleven great-grandchildren, Emily, Jack and Camden Fisher, Alyson, Tessa and Jacob Brucker, Evan and Logan Fuller, Wyatt Lovel, Kaitlyn Miller and Luke Calloway.Rodgers was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Carol D. Hall; son-in-law, Alan Brucker; three brothers, George, Arthur and Norman Loos; and four sisters, Ruth, Laverne, Kathleen and Doris. Rodgers was an Insurance Salesmen for Aid Association for Lutherans for many years. He later worked for Proctor Hospital, where he retired.Rodgers enjoyed and adored his grandkids and great-grandkids and loved celebrating holidays and birthdays with his family.Rodgers was honored to take the Second Greater Peoria Honor Flight to Washington D.C. He was a United States
Army veteran, having served during the
Korean War. Rodgers was a member of the American Legion and Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Monday, December 12, 2016, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria. Pastor Philip Doublestein will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday at the church. Burial with military honors will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, IL.
