Mr. Roberto F. Ortiz Sr. of  Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the age of  77.

Roberto was born to parents Miguel and Chrisdela Ortiz on May 05/15/1940 in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. He grew up as the eldest of six and attended Colegio American High School. In 1965 he married his high school sweetheart, Angela Rodiguez. In 1979 he and his wife made the decision to move to the United States to give their kids a better opportunity in life.

Roberto was a devoted father and grandfather and an avid traveler. He enjoyed taking family trips and made sure every year they had one family vacation. He traveled to over 33 countries and performed in many of the cities he visited with his band, he was known as a skilled and intuitive musician among his avid listeners. He was a spiritual man and involved in many church activities. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Roberto is survived by his wife, Chrisdela; his children, Juan Ortiz Sr, Edgar Ortiz, Jacob Ortiz; his grandkids, Juan Ortiz Jr., Helda Smith, Jeffery Ortiz Jr, Johova Ortiz and many more. He is predeceased by his parents, brother, and grandparents.

A viewing of the body will be available to the public at Promotora Y Funerales Saltillo, S.A. De C.V. from December 30-31  between the hours of 12 pm- 6pm. The cremation will take place on January 01, 2018 at 1:00 pm and friends and family are invited to attend the scattering of the ashes at Passion Island Cozumel shortly thereafter. The family is grateful for the condolences but respectfully declines flowers and donations.
