Roberta BoekeAmesRoberta (Bobbie) Starbuck Boeke passed away peacefully on January 19th at the age of 89. She was born on August 30, 1927 in Ames, IA and attended Iowa State College. Bobbie married Robert Boeke on September 6, 1947, and soon after began what she considered to be the most important job in the world, being a mother. Bobbie was active in the church and an avid ISU fan; she contributed to numerous charitable and community organizations. She will be remembered by many for her caring demeanor, warm heart and sparkling sense of humor. She valued the welfare of those she cared about above all else. Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Boeke and daughter, Beth, as well as her parents and brothers. She is survived by her children, Lee Burke, Linda Day and John Boeke, as well as five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Visitation will be 5-7pm, February 3rd, with services at 11:00am, February 4th at Collegiate Presbyterian Church in Ames, IA. Charitable contributions can be made to Youth Shelter and Services of Story County or the Octagon Center for the Arts.
