Robert TurnbaughAge: 62 • Essex JunctionRobert Turnbaugh, 62, passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 28, 2017. Robert was born on July 7, 1954. He was the son of the late Charles and Kathleen Turnbaugh. He was the youngest of 10 brothers and sisters.Robert is survived by his beautiful wife of 39 years, Carey Turnbaugh, his four beautiful children Erin, Ryan, Alison and Megan, who he loved dearly; his three grandchildren, Spencer, Caleb and Bella who were his biggest blessings in life and filled his heart and soul with so much joy and love.Robert graduated from Burlington High School in 1972 where he had many friends and became captain of both the track and football teams. He was an outstanding and accomplished athlete who was admired and loved by all. To know him was to love him.After high school, Robert went on to working as a Senior Production Control Analyst and took great pride in his job at IBM where he worked for 40 years. Robert was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, son, brother, and friend who always welcomed you with his big warm hugs along with one of his many stories and we could always count on having a lot of laughs and shedding some tears together along the way too. He had an unforgettable smile. He was a courageous man who overcame many obstacles in his life and because of that he was a loving, protective, sensitive man who loved and lived for his family. Visiting hours will be at Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant Street, Essex Junction on Thursday, February 2 from 4pm - 7pm, with a prayer service on Friday, February 3 at 11 am at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, P.O Box 459, South Hero, VT 05486Visit
