Robert Charles Myers LansingRobert Charles "Bob / BM" Myers, 80, of Lansing, Michigan, died peacefully on February 19, 2017, in Lansing after a long battle with cancer. Robert (Bob) was born on April 6, 1936, in San Antonio, Texas to Robert Malone and Rose Granato of San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepfather, Henry Myers, all of San Antonio, and a son, Anthony of Lansing. He is survived by his wife, Jean, of Lansing, two daughters, Misty Myers (Tim) Dickinson, of Farmington Hills, Michigan and Rhonda Myers, of Lansing. Bob is also survived by his four loving grandchildren; Corey Zambrano, Sydney Dickinson, Olivia Urdiales and Madeline Wagner, all in Michigan.Bob served in the
US Air Force, retiring after 20 years, at the rank of Master Sergeant. Bob served in Vietnam as an airport security chief and later served as an Air Force recruiter in the Lansing area until his retirement. Bob also attended Northwood University in Midland, Michigan. Bob started and managed numerous businesses in the Lansing area including "Super Clean", carpet cleaning, "No Bull About It", country western apparel store, founded and promoted the once popular "Lone Star Kicker Band", owned and operated the "Give Me A Break", brake service, "Downtown Car Salon", car detailing, and "Car Salon", car detailing and restoration service.Bob was a proud member of the
VFW 6132, American Legion and 40 & 8 Posts, all of Lansing. He was forever proud of his service to his country. Regardless of where he was stationed, or called home, he remained a die-hard Texan until the very end. Bob was a kind, generous & loyal Father, husband & friend and will be dearly missed by his family, fellow veterans and friends. He was proud of his Italian background and upbringing, often referring to his final resting place as "spaghetti heaven". Bob's friends and family, who watched him suffer over the months & years, can tell you he is in a much better place now; forever flirting, making a deal, and whooping it up Texas style in spaghetti heaven amongst the beloved friends & family that passed before him. A memorial tribute to Bob will be held St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2017, from 3-11pm, at the VFW Post 6132, 3104 W. St. Joseph St., Lansing. Any memorials may be made to a or to the VFW 6132, in Bob's honor.
