Robert Leroy "Buzz" Buzzard of East Tawas passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital, age 78 years. He was born on Nov. 7, 1936 in Bay City to Alvin and Buleah (Miller) Buzzard. He is survived by his wife, Donna L. Buzzard; daughter, Pamela Gipson; grandchildren, David Partlow and Erica Gipson; three step-daughters, Wendy (Jon) Ericksen, Cathy Ordiway and Becky (Jason) Sweeten; step grandchildren, Amanda Ericksen, Jon Ericksen, Christian Ericksen, Jacob Ericksen, Jessica Ericksen, Jenna Sweeten and Bryan Sweeten; step great grandchildren, Aiden Ericksen and Elaina Sweeten; one sister, Judith Dufresne; special nephews, Terry (Donna) Buzzard and Robert (Diane) Morse and many more nieces and nephews. Buzz was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Buleah Buzzard; and siblings, Alvin "Buck," Richard, Marie, Joy and Sandra. Buzz was employed as a truck driver for many years through Schaaf Lumber, Hager Sanitation and Starboard Industries. He also owned Buzzard Lawn Maintenance and Trucking. Buzz was an active member of Tawas Masonic Lodge No. 274, Scottish Rite Free Masonry Elf Khurafeh Shriners, White Pine Shrine Club and O.E.S. No. 71. He was a faithful member of Tawas United Methodist Church and Pioneer Power Club. He loved pulling the Girl Scouts in the Fourth of July parade. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service and Masonic service on Saturday, March 28 at 1 p.m. at Tawas United Methodist Church with Pastor Dan Gonder officiating.
