Robert James Fisher, 64, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Yuma Regional Medical Center. He was surrounded by his loved ones. Robert was born on August 13, 1945 in Butler, Pennsylvania to Robert P. and Laura M. Fisher. Robert graduated from Butler Senior High School and then proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1966. He went on to Butler Community College where he received an Associates Degree in Drafting in 1968. Robert worked in construction as a piping engineer for Kaiser Engineering. In 1989, he was selected for a civil service position at U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground as a Facility Management Specialist. He retired in 2006. Robert is survived by a loving wife, Sandy; sister, Patricia Minor of Butler, Pennsylvania; daughters, Shawnee Strachan, Wendy Davis, and Kristen (Stephen) Trelz; grandson, Konnor; and several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents. Per Robert's request, no funeral services will be held. Yuma Mortuary handled a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Humane Society of Yuma. As an organ donor, Robert's legacy of giving lives on.
